It’s a new year, and now is the perfect time to develop a plan to focus on your leadership branding. As a leader your attention is typically on the school district’s goals, but what are you doing as a leader to support those goals and advance them?

Take time to do some personal reflection, and consider the following. Then enlist others in this process to solicit their perspective and to maximize your branding potential:

  • How do others perceive you?
  • What image are you projecting?
  • Are you being your authentic self?
  • Are you utilizing your passions to drive your personal brand forward?

Once you have these questions answered, use the answers to write your personal branding statement. This piece is something you should carry with you and review often. It will keep you focused and aware of your personal brand while also bringing your best possible self to work each day.
